MISSION TO THE WORLD JAPAN
welcome
We are excited to see how God is working in Japan! As of 2021, As of Mission to the World Japan has 100 career missionaries, including various nationalities and collaborating mission agencies, and this number grows every year. While we focus on church growth by planting new churches and assisting Japanese nationals through evangelism and discipleship, we recognize that many ministries are crucial to assist in church planting movements. We engage in faith & work ministries, faith & art ministries, seminary training, Christian grade school education, publishing, training, and much more.

history
Missionaries in Mission to the World’s tradition first arrived in Japan in 1948. The following year they helped begin Tokyo Christian Theological Seminary, which helped establish today’s 日本長老会 (Presbyterian Church in Japan). MTW Japan officially began in 1982, inheriting missionaries already in Japan and expanding into multiple church-planting teams.
