NEXT TEAM

We are used to thinking about unreached people groups in the work of foreign missions, but youth from the ages of 10 to 30 are the largest unreached people group on the planet. This rapidly expanding population (50% of the world’s population in 2012) share more in common culturally with each other than they do with the cultures of their own parents.

Reaching this next generation is a critical priority for the global church, and this is the focus of NEXT. We are working to develop youth ministry movements by equipping missionaries, national leaders, and indigenous churches to reach the youth in our communities. We also provide resources, training, and care for Third Culture Kids (TCKs) and their parents.

We are engaged in three strategic initiatives:

Reaching

Through a city-wide youth ministry called Connect, NEXT partners with various local churches to connect Nagoya’s young people to each other, adults who care, and Jesus.

Training

Through classes at Christ Bible Seminary, resourcing, translation, and mentored internships, NEXT trains parents, church leaders, and lay people as they seek to reach the young people in their communities.

Sustaining

Through social media and events, NEXT seeks to sustain missionary kids (MKs) & their families through the opportunities and challenges of growing up cross-culturally.
